Megan graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005. She was awarded the Health Professions scholarship from the United Stated Navy and became an active duty Navy officer, which is how she came to Virginia.

She completed her internal medicine residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth [NMCP]. She then served four more years at NMCP in various roles to include inpatient and out patient attending physician, Assistant Program Director for research for the internal medicine residency, scientific reviewer for the Institutional Review Board, and served on the Clinical Competency Committee, to name just a few. She was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Physicians in 2010, which is a huge achievement so early in her career. She became a civilian physician in 2012, joining Riverside Medical Group as a full time internist. She is one of only a few female outpatient internists serving the local community. She practices full time at Riverside Internal Medicine of Denbigh in Newport News, Virginia.

Megan has been blessed with a beautiful family. She married her husband, Dr. Huy Tran, DO, FHM, FACP in 2006. Their first born son, Cole, came in 2011. They were then lucky enough to have twin boys, Ashton & Sebastian, in 2016. She is a devoted mother and physician. She enjoys dancing, going to the beach, being in nature, and loves interior design. In recent years, horses have become quite a '“hobby” as they have helped her eldest son further along in the path of healing with his autism diagnosis. She has worked and ridden the horses everyday with Cole since 2018. She is the founder of CHATS and runs the homeschooling program for her son as well as nonprofit work for the local community.
