I’ve lived in Virginia my whole life!  I started riding horses when I was four and my grandpa got me my first horse, Diego, when I was eight years old.  My horse and I practically grew up together teaching each other many things. When I wasn’t with my horse, I enjoyed playing field hockey from elementary through high school. 

              I went to college and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in equine studies.  From there, I went to school at Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center to further my passion and career in horses.  I studied equine science, horse training, instructing, horse health, farrier work, horse business and horse breeding.

 I returned to VA in 2019 and started working in many different venues to include the racetrack at Colonial Downs. While I enjoyed this, my heart was where my mother’s heart lies and that is in taking care of persons with special needs.  She is a certified nurse assistant to special needs adults, so for me it was just natural to do this and add a horse in the mix!!  I cherish working with these children and watching them grow up on horse back and in nature like I did. 

I love all things animal to include my cat, dogs and of course…horses!! 

Elexis joined the CHATS tribe in October 2023. She has been a fantastic, knowledgeable addition to our team!
